A collection of colour lithographs produced at Atelier Clot's Danish workshop in Svendborg.
Lithography is a medium I really appreciate exploring — the physical process, and the way an image develops and gradually reveals itself as it moves through the printing process. There is always an element of unpredictability, and unexpected gifts that emerge when working on the stone. The sediments and traces left by the drying ink become part of this journey, finding their way into the final print.
All five works were printed at Atelier Clot, which was founded in Paris in 1896, and I’m very happy to have had the opportunity to work with them and to see these images take form through such a traditional and beautiful printing process.
The four smaller works — Radi, Axis, Dito and Isop — share a common origin: all four were painted and printed from a single large lithographic stone. Although conceived as stand-alone works, I wanted to retain a connection between them. Their titles became the link, forming a palindromic square.
Echo, the largest of the five lithographs, stands completely on its own.
